How to check a company or an intermediary
- The insurer. Look for its name in the list of licensed companies published by ACAPS. A company that is not on the list cannot insure a risk located in Morocco.
- The agent or broker. Find the office on the ACAPS map of intermediaries. The licence must be displayed in the office, and the name on your receipt must match it.
- The certificate. A motor certificate issued since 1 July 2026 carries a QR code. Scan it: it must show your vehicle and your dates.
- The payment. Pay the company or the licensed office, never a private person, and keep a receipt that states the contract number.
- Online. Buy on the insurer's official website or app. Offers of cheap insurance through social networks or messaging apps are a common source of forged certificates.
Warning signs
- A price far below every other quote
- A certificate with no contract behind it
- Payment asked to a personal account or a mobile wallet
- Pressure to pay today
- A seller who cannot show a licence
If you think you were sold a forged policy, contact the insurer named on the document, report it to ACAPS and file a complaint with the police. Until you hold a real contract, you are not insured.

How to compare insurers
Size says nothing about how a company will treat your claim. Compare what you can check.
- The contract. The same guarantees, ceilings and deductibles, side by side.
- The full price. Taxes and fees included, for the same sums insured.
- The service. An office near you, a network of garages or clinics paid directly, a claims line that answers.
- The intermediary. The person who will handle your file matters as much as the logo on the contract.
